If you are doing business in the Philippines, it is mandatory to secure business permits and licenses from the Local Government Unit (LGU), such as Barangay and Municipal, where your business is located, before you can legitimately start operating the business.
In addition, it is required for you to renew such Local Government Unit (Barangay and Municipal) business permits yearly, on or before January 20 of each year.
However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic plus the recent entry of the UK Variant in our country, which was officially announced last January 13, 2021, it is more challenging than ever to get this necessary renewed Local Government Unit (Barangay and Municipal) business permit for the year 2021 because of the risk.
Luckily, some city municipality in Metro Manila were able to think ahead on the high risk of COVID-19 spread when the business owners and/or their employees/representative will flock the municipal office to meet the January 20 deadline to renew their Local Government Unit (LGU) business permits. Some city municipality have extended the deadline of renewal of business permits while other city municipality continued with the original January 20 yearly deadline.
I’m writing this article to share the Renewal of Business Permits Deadline for the Year 2021 from the Local Government Unit (LGU) in Metro Manila.
Deadlines of Business Permit Renewal for Year 2021 Per City Municipality
I will list down 16 cities in Metro Manila with corresponding deadlines in alphabetical order.
Important Note: There may be changes with the deadline after the date of the posting of this article. It is advisable to continuously monitor your own city updates on the deadlines of renewal of business permits for year 2021.
Caloocan City
Per City Ordinance No. 0900 S.2021 the new and extended renewal of business permit deadline is February 28, 2021.
Las Piñas City
As of this writing, renewal of business permit deadline is still January 20, 2021. No announcement of extended deadline.
Makati City
Per City Ordinance No 2021-001, the new and extended renewal of business permit deadline are as follows: Assessment Deadline on January 31, 2021 while Payment Deadline is on February 7, 2021.
Malabon City
As of this writing, renewal of business permit deadline is still January 20, 2021. No announcement of extended deadline.
Mandaluyong City
Per City Ordinance No. 812 S.2020, the new and extended renewal of business permit deadline are as follows: Assessment Deadline is on January 31, 2021 while Payment Deadline is on February 28, 2021.
Manila City
As of this writing, renewal of business permit deadline is still January 20, 2021. No announcement of extended deadline.
Marikina City
Per City Ordinance No. 157 S.2020, the new and extended renewal of business permit deadline is March 20, 2021.
MuntinlupaCity
Per City website published in December 29, 2020, the new and extended renewal of business permit deadline is January 29, 2021.
Navotas City
Per City Ordinance No. 2020-51, the new and extended renewal of business permit deadline is February 28, 2021.
Paranaque City
Per City Ordinance No. 2020-46 and based on their website, there’s a schedule appointment and deadline for renewal depending of business permit number but up to February 28, 2021.
Pasay City
As of this writing, renewal of business permit deadline is still January 20, 2021. No announcement of extended deadline.
Pasig City
Per City Resolution No. 3, s.2021, the new and extended renewal of business permit assessment and payment deadline is January 29, 2021.
Quezon City
Per City Ordinance No. SP-2981 S-2020, the new and extended renewal of business permit deadline is April 20, 2021.
San Juan City
Per email from the City BPLO, the new and extended renewal of business permit deadline is February 2021.
Taguig City
As of this writing, renewal of business permit deadline is still January 20, 2021. No announcement of extended deadline.
Valenzuela City
Per Valenzuela City Official Facebook Page, renewal of business permit deadline for Walk-In is until January 20, 2021 but online payment for first quarter is extended until January 30, 2021

The normal deadline for quarterly is April 20, July 20, October 20. Coordinate with your Municipal or Mayor’s Office to re-confirm.

This article is only about the annual renewal. Normally the quarterly deadline are: April 20, July 20, October 20. You may coordinate with your municipality for schedule.
